Berkley Intermediate finish fifth at ANZ National Primary School Cup

Published on 20 Nov 2019

Berkley Intermediate have finished fifth at the ANZ National Primary School Cup in Lincoln.

Taking place at the NZC High Performance Centre in Lincoln, the week got off to a less than ideal start as the first match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Thankfully, the weather cleared in the afternoon to allow play to get underway, however Berkley faced some tough competition, losing this and their two matches the next day, before finishing the competition with a victory over John McGlashan Primary.

A stand-out performer over the week was captain Samuel Keightley, who scored 161  runs across three innings, including two half-centuries and a high-score of 72, to average just under 54.
