After recently announcing head coaches for the 2020-21 season, Northern Districts have rounded out an impressive coaching team with the announcement of their Performance and Pathway Coaches.

Experienced High Performance and Network Coach for New Zealand Cricket, Sriram (Sri) Krishnamurthy has accepted the role of Performance and Pathway Coach – Male Programme.  While former New Zealand International cricketer Rob Nicol comes in as Performance and Pathway Coach – Female Programme.

Northern Districts GM High Performance Daniel Archer said the recruitment panel is thrilled by the depth of knowledge in what is a highly experienced coaching team.

Sri and Rob both bring vast experience across different environments. Both coaches have such a diverse set of skills that complement and complete a strong coaching team, combined with Graeme and Joanne in the head coach positions.” – said Archer.

Krishnamurthy has coached across India, England, Australia and most recently New Zealand with Cricket Wellington and NZC.

“ND has been a talent hub within New Zealand Cricket, one only needs to see the number of players going on to represent the BLACKCAPS or the U19 teams. I am excited to get started to ensure the province continues to develop the best talent in the country.” – Krishnamurthy said.

After many years coaching first class teams in New Zealand, including time with the WHITE FERNS as an assistant specialist spin bowling coach, Nicol is excited to get involved in the women’s programme.

“It’s brilliant to be involved at an association that is committed to investing heavily into its female programmes. Cricket in New Zealand has a great community and I’m looking forward to extending my relationships with our network coaches across our region to hopefully produce more Spirit and WHITE FERNS players for the future.” – said Nicol.

Nicol went on to call out his enthusiasm for being able to assist Northern Districts Women’s Programme Head Coach, Joanne Broadbent.

“Most of all, I’m excited to be assisting Jo with the Spirit.  It’s going to be a great challenge to help her and the side continue the great direction it is heading in as we get closer to the 2020/21 season.”
